Remarkably, after days of storms here in Northern California with carpets of leaves laid down on steps, walkways and roads, beautiful colours remain in trees. They continue to turn and develop a rich range of hues.  Although the skies have distinct wintry light, we still are more than 10 days away from the solstice. We appreciate the lull of changing beauty.
