I need you…or is it I knead you?

Life with pets is an endless variation on who owns who, who serves who, and who is benefiting…but despite the strange gifts they may bring you, the unplanned excursions under the house or up a tree, and the things you wish they did NOT do, your life is probably richer for their presence.

Your pet is not impressed with your financial prowess, the price of milk or the training of TSA agents. Or what level of Sudoko you can complete or which NYT crossword you can do in ink.

They DO respond to innate kindness, sometimes more than you realized you were capable of.

Their time schedule is not driven by your needs. They remind you that you may be the one in orbit. Another lesson in humility, patience and persistence.
